In the last week of January 2007, Shawn Heinrichs, Oscar van Tol and I joined up to experience one of Jim Abernethy’s famous Shark Expeditions off the Bahamas.  We left West Palm Beach in MV Shear Water for Grand Bahama on Monday night 22nd January and returned a week later. Although the weather was not kind to us for the last three days of the trip we were certainly not disappointed as we dived with all the shark species we had hoped to meet. These included Tiger Sharks, Lemon Sharks, Caribbean Reef Sharks, Bull Sharks, Nurse Sharks, and we even had a couple of brief encounters with Great Hammerhead Sharks. This trip is highly recommended for any shark lover.  Jim is a true professional and his briefings and guidance ensure the trip is a safe one as well as truly spectacular. He is also an outstanding photographer - all of the following photos were taken by Jim unless indicated otherwise. See Jim’s web site for more details. See a video clip of our action at Tiger Beach here.
